Many here at St. Matthew utilize the "Daily Moravian Texts." These are texts that are read by 1.5 million believers in more than 50 languages around the globe. The Moravian Daily Texts were first published in 1731 in Saxony, and grew out of a spiritual renewal of the Moravian Church (Unitas Fratrum) that dates back to Aug. 13, 1727. Today, more than 250 years after its first publication, the Daily Texts continues its promise of “a daily message from God that is new every morning.”
We still have 2013 Daily Texts books available here for sale at St. Matthew. You can also subscribe to a daily email version of the texts at this site.
To further supplement this wonderful resource, I invite you to utilize this blog, crafted by Moravian Pastor and Bishop Chris Giesler, who serves the Edgeboro Moravian Church in Bethlehem, PA. The blog includes a brief liturgy and prayer each week that ties into the Moravian Watchword for the Week (which generally is one of the Sunday lectionary texts).
